Lisa at CollegeIn college, I was really irritated to see trash cans overflowing after lunch on our beautiful quad. Can you believe in 1997 the University did not have any recycling on campus???? I was elected to the Student Senate and eventually became the Environmental Affairs Chairman. My legacy at UWEC was to bring recycling to our campus!

Speaking of recycling
Did you know? There are so many ways to recycle! Most of us are aware of the 3 R’s, reduce, reuse, recycle and the icon. Newer ways include repurposing and upcycling. Etsy is full of shops that do this. I like to think about an old warehouse converted to a bunch of loft apartments or packing paper for future packages. Heck, I love donating my unwanted clothes and shopping these same stores for clothes and furniture!

Let’s talk about sustainability
Plastic bags - What to do? Pinterest BoardThe more we recycle, the more we save our natural resources. The more we can maintain an ecological balance we ensure there is a HEALTHY EARTH for our nieces, nephews, all future generations. For Halfpint Naturals, recycling what we can is very important to us and, I hope is for my customers.

We reuse packing materials, empty essential oil bottles for my blends, and test label prints for packing slips in your orders.

We recycle carrier oil containers, cardboard boxes and packing material, and small essential oil bottles.

I use organic carrier oils, essential oils and organically grown or wild harvested herbs.

    Recycling is experiencing a renaissance
Repurposing and upcycling are new ways to incorporate sustainability into our lives. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint at Halfpint Naturals. Check out our Pinterest Board to see what to do with all those plastic bags!

Look for Part 2 in two weeks, you will see how you can recycle our containers!
